The USDA has announced that they are extending the deadline to reallocate base acres and yield history to March 31, 2015. The previous deadline was February 27, 2015. If no changes to base acres or yield history are made, the current base acres and yields will be used for the life of the current farm bill.
The deadline for selecting ARC or PLC programs will remain March 31, 2015. If no election is made, the farm will forfeit any 2014 payments and will default to PLC for the life of the current farm bill.
For help making these decisions, growers can enter their information into the Texas A&M Online Farm Bill Decision Aid or schedule an appointment with your local Extension Agent. Below are links to Doodle Polls which show available time slots for Farm Bill consultation at Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, and Marlboro County Extension offices. For all other counties, contact your Extension Agent.
