Question of the Week: Bagworm

Last week the question was:  What is this?


This is the bag of a bagworm.  the bag is made by a tiny caterpillar and grows as the caterpillar grows.  Eventually the bagworm will pupate in the bag and emerge as an adult.  Bagworms are most commonly found on conifers hanging upside down from the branches.  They can be damaging at times.  For more info, check out this NC State page.
