Question of the Week: Swinecress

Last week the question was:  What is this weed?

This is swinecress.  This is a cool season weed that we are seeing pop up in rapeseed and wheat fields right now.  Usually our preemergent herbicides do a good job on swinecress.  This one was in a field that didn’t get a preemergent herbicide because it began raining for several days as soon as the field was planted and soggy conditions prohibited the grower from getting a sprayer in the field.

Here is this week’s question:  Is this a male or female squash blossom?  How can you tell?
