Question of the Week: Deer Damage

Last week the question was:  Why are these strawberry plants so small when they were planted at the proper time and fertilized properly?

These strawberries have been fed on pretty heavily by deer.  There was no fence around the field which is bordered by woods on three sides.  You can see the hoof prints all over the plastic.  This is a good reminder that deer can wreak havoc on a strawberry field and fencing should be in place before the transplants are put in the ground.

Here is this week’s question:  What left this egg mass on the underside of this strawberry leaf?
