Question of the Week: Lady Beetle Eggs

Last week the question was:  What left this egg mass on the underside of this strawberry leaf?

Lady Bug Egg Mass

These are lady beetle eggs.  Lady bugs are excellent predators of aphids so this is a good thing to see in your strawberry field.  Here is a pretty good video of a lady bug eating aphids off of a rose bud.

 

Here is this week’s question:  Why is this greenhouse cucumber shaped like this?
