Question of the Week: Primrose

Last week the question was:  What is this winter weed?

This is cutleaf evening primrose.  This is a low growing weed that we see a lot in our winter crops.  Later in the spring it can start growing upright as it begins to flower.  It can be confused with a dandelion this time of year though when it begins to grow upward and outward, it is easily distinguished.  Here is a great publication about cutleaf evening primrose.

 

Here is this week’s question:  Here is another winter weed, this time growing out of a crack in a brick wall four feet off the ground.  What is it?
